Located within Congaree National Park, the Cedar Creek paddle trail is a well-marked, self-guided path that leads kayakers and canoeists through the ethereal stillness of the park’s massive bald cypress and water tupelo trees. Rent your own watercraft or participate in one of the park’s ranger-led canoe tours, which are free and include canoe use and fascinating stories about the park. You can also rent kayaks at Saluda Shoals Park, which sits on a particularly pretty stretch of the Saluda that’s dotted with giant boulders and small islands, or at Sesquicentennial State Park, where a tranquil lake is perfect for beginners. Many outfitters rent stand-up paddleboards as well.
No matter which trip you choose, get ready to be awed by nature – veteran paddlers report regular sightings of egrets, heron and turtles; you’ll also likely spot river otters, muskrat, eagles and even the occasional swimming deer. In early summer, the shoreline is awash in clouds of white spider lilies, a rare, fragrant flower that blooms for about three weeks.
Rather float than work? In additional to kayak rentals, Palmetto Outdoors, Adventure Carolina and others rent inner tubes and provide shuttle service back to the put-in point for a stress-free trip down the river at your own pace.
Paddlers also flock to Lake Murray, where small islands serve as serene picnic spots and the 650 or so-miles of scalloped coastline is decorated with shady coves and small sandy beaches. Rental kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards and even paddleboats are widely available. Launch at a local marina or near the dam on the Irmo side, at Dreher Island State Park and at various SCE&G recreation areas in Chapin and Prosperity. During the summer months, you can also join guided sunset tours of the lake or cruise to Bomb Island, a former WWII aircraft training ground that’s taken over each summer by tens of thousands of purple martins. The area is so popular with the swooping birds that it was designated as the first Purple Martin Sanctuary in the U.S.

2.How to find a good kayak rental company?
I like traveling and trying new things. I have been to 20 different city this past month. I have enjoy good food, good weather, roof top bars, and the beach. I also have enjoy learning and listening to interesting people. There are different rental programs across the country at universities and colleges. I came a cross a program about the local University of North Florida (UNF), they offer “Gear Check-out & Adventure Trips.” The students can use the gear for free, for example, kayaks, canoing, and rock climbing.
The programs offered University of North Florida (UNF) allow students, staff and visitors to learn about team work in different environment. I like to see programs like that be very success like it is at our local university.

3.Kayak Buyers Guide
How to buy a kayak?
As I been writing this blog the past two weeks I have been shopping for a kayak. I went online to Dick’s sporting goods. I went to Walmart, Black Creek sporting goods store, and REI co-op.
Here is some information from each store, first Black Creek is more that you have to go into the store the online store does not have enough information to share online.

Best Fishing Practices

Plan Ahead
Know your fishing regulations and have the necessary equipment ready to release fish that you do not plan to keep.
Avoidance
Develop fishing skills to target the size and species you desire. Change location, depth, or bait to avoid catching fish you do not intend to keep.
Appropriate Gear
Use appropriately sized gear that is targeted to the species you desire to catch. Use circle hooks when planning to release fish and where they are required.
Landing Fish
Do not play the fish to exhaustion. Use line strong enough to minimize playing time. Land the fish quickly and if possible, release them while still in the water.
Handling Fish
Use knotless, rubberized landing nets and rubberized gloves to avoid removing the slime layer from the fish’s body. Keep the fish horizontal and support the body. Avoid dropping the fish, especially onto hard surfaces. Use release tools, such as dehookers and recompression tools, to minimize handling. Release fish as soon as practical and do not keep them out of the water longer than necessary.
