After going shopping for a new kayak in Brooklyn, I decided to take it out for a spin on the Saint Mary’s River. I had heard great things about this river, and I was excited to experience it myself.
I launched my kayak from the public boat ramp in Saint Marys, Georgia. The river was calm and clear, and the sun was shining brightly. I paddled my way upstream, passing by lush green forests and towering cypress trees.
I saw all sorts of wildlife along the way, including turtles, alligators, and birds. I even saw a few manatees swimming in the distance.
I paddled for several hours, stopping occasionally to rest and enjoy the scenery. I eventually reached a spot where the river widened and formed a small lake. I decided to take a break and have a picnic lunch.
After lunch, I continued paddling downstream. The river became narrower and more winding, but the scenery was just as beautiful. I passed by several old plantations and historic bridges.
Eventually, I reached the end of the Saint Mary’s River, where it joins the Satilla River. I paddled out to the mouth of the river and looked out at the Atlantic Ocean. It was a beautiful sight.
I turned my kayak around and paddled back to the boat ramp. I was tired but happy. I had had a wonderful day kayaking on the Saint Mary’s River. It was a truly magical experience.
