After going shopping for a new kayak from Hobie, I was finally ready to take it out for a spin. I decided to head down to the Elizabeth River near Norfolk, VA. The weather was perfect, with a sunny sky and light breeze.
I launched my kayak at the Plum Point Park kayak launch and paddled out into the river. I was immediately impressed with the stability and performance of my new kayak. It glided through the water smoothly and easily.
I paddled upstream, past the USS Wisconsin battleship and the Battleship Missouri Memorial. I enjoyed the view of the Norfolk skyline and the many boats and ships on the river.
After a while, I reached the confluence of the Elizabeth River and the Lafayette River. I decided to turn around and head back down the river.
On my way back, I saw a group of dolphins swimming nearby. I paddled closer to get a better look. The dolphins were playful and curious, and they swam right up next to my kayak. It was an amazing experience.
I continued paddling down the river, enjoying the scenery and the peacefulness of being out on the water. I eventually reached the kayak launch and pulled my kayak out of the water.
I had a wonderful time kayaking on the Elizabeth River. It was a great way to break in my new kayak and to enjoy the beauty of the area. I would definitely recommend kayaking on the Elizabeth River to anyone looking for a fun and rewarding outdoor activity.
